How is manifesting goals different from working toward goals? I think this is an important question since manifesting often sometimes will require some sort of action or may appear similar to typical work to an observer. I believe that part of the answer is that manifesting is about incorporating a spiritual element in all aspects of one’s life. Typically we incorporate only mental and physical activity when we are working, playing, relaxing, and so on throughout the week. Then many of us have one sacred day each week when we focus on spiritual activities. Aside from that one day, many people are not very spiritually active.
Manifesting incorporates that spiritual aspect into life’s daily activities. Work is no longer something that you do 5 days per week from 9am to 5pm just to pay the bills. Work becomes part of the path toward enlightenment every day, and is as much a spiritual experience during the week as it is on the sacred day. The spiritual aspect we are incorporating involves an overall intent, something positive we are trying to accomplish, as well as a sense of gratitude. As one begins to incorporate their overall intent into every minute of the day, the intent becomes more and more a part of their reality, eventually experienced on both physical and mental levels as well as on the spiritual level. Aspects of one’s life that are not in harmony with the overall intent, such as bad habits, fade away and are replaced by healthy habits and routines. Meditation, praying, eating healthy, and helping other people each day are all habits easily adopted by one practicing the art of manifesting. Some people may find support for developing healthy habits through religion while others may not.
Typical work just puts food on the table and shelter over our heads. We may feel empty and used after putting our own life on hold to make money for the company we work for. The work involved in manifesting is different, it is enjoyed and done with a smile. This is because the overall goal of developing a deeper understanding of one’s self is accomplished with every passing minute. Goals that involve a physical change to one’s self or environment can be easily accomplished by staying positive and patient while remaining resolved to bring the change to fruition.
Some people find that it helps to put together a group of pictures of things you would like in your life. They look at the pictures a few times each day and get excited to harmonize their emotional state in the present with the emotional state associated with the intent. To be sure, there are many methods out there like this. The truth is, you need to find those methods that work best for you and people find them easily through personal balance.

Thank you. There are so many things that I want to accomplish in this life but so often I feel as if I brush myself aside to care for my family. I would never begrudge them any of my time or effort. I know that my children are the most important thing and I try to give them all of my effort and be present when I'm with them. But at times, I feel like I'm depriving myself. Is it wrong to want something for myself? Isn't it the job of a mother to be completely selfless?
ReplyDeleteThank you for the comment SonyaAnn and it's great to hear from you. I think the struggle you are facing between time for family and time for personal growth is one that is familiar to many parents today. Whereas before families could get away with one person working a 40 hour workweek, now it sometimes takes both people working up to 60 hours per week to pay all the bills. That leaves little time for family, fun, or even sleep. If I were you, and depending on your situation of course, I might ask myself if there was some way to incorporate some of my family members in the goals you are trying to accomplish. I would perhaps focus less on me-time versus family time and maybe involve my children in some of the spiritual work I was doing. Teaching children meditation skills and to slow down a little to pay attention to our natural surroundings can be very helpful to them, especially as they mature into young adults. To answer your question directly, balance is the key to everything so if you are feeling deprived, it is probably time to give your own needs some attention. On the other hand, finding a way to give yourself some attention while tending to your children could make the time management dilemma a little easier. Again I thank you for your comment and I look forward to your response. I my words have been helpful and if not, perhaps I can offer some insight with further discussion.
ReplyDeleteThank you for taking time out of your busy schedule to address me personally. I think that it is just the road that every parent is on. Finding time to nurture everyone around us and ourselves.
ReplyDeleteI enjoy your writing very much and I feel better off for reading it.
